Softonic review

Keep the beat and rack up points with VR technology

Airtone is a virtual reality music game that puts players in the action thanks to state of the art VR technology. In the vein of games like Garageband and Dance Dance Revolution, Airtone requires players to follow along and keep rhythm with the background music to score points. Great music mixed with awesome visuals make Airtone an incredible arcade game experience.

Keep the beat

Arcade rhythm games have been around for decades but Airtone puts a new twist on the old classic by incorporating sophisticated VR controls. Users play as the main character Neon and work their way up through levels by keeping the beat and matching the music’s rhythm. To do this, players match their hand controllers to markers as they move along the lane, much like the way guitar players match the coloured buttons in Garageband. It might sound easy to do but it’s tricky to master. Different markers require different actions and points are scored when you match correctly—either “trigger”, “smash” or “press and hold” at the perfect time to rack up a high score.

Truly intuitive gameplay

Players of Airtone aren’t restricted to traditional controllers in this brand-new game. Instead, VR controls let you control your in-game movements with your whole body, allowing you to reach out and touch the markers. This style of control in combination for the story-rich plot of the game make it one-of-a-kind for music and game lovers.
